Aujourd’hui je vous parle du Chiffon cake au matcha de la boulangerie franco-japonaise Aki.

Today I’m talking about the matcha Chiffon cake from Aki, the French/Japanese bakery.

Les chiffon cakes, vous avez dû en entendre parler récemment avec l’ouverture à Paris de Ciel, la pâtisserie qui ne fait exclusivement que des “angel cakes” (je n’avais personnellement jamais entendu ce terme avant).
Au Japon, c’est un gâteau que l’on trouve très fréquemment, soit dans les konbini, soit dans les cafés (comme les grandes chaînes de type Starbucks ).
C’est un gâteau très léger, coloré et parfumé vendu avec de la chantilly et/ou des fruits. On le trouve très souvent à la fraise, au chocolat ou au matcha au Japon.
Celui de Aki, est dans la plus pure tradition du chiffon cake, et je le conseille vivement.

Chiffon cakes, you may have heard about it with the opening in Paris of Ciel, the pastry shop that only sells “angel cakes” (I had never heard about this name before).
In Japan, it is a cake that you can find easily, whether it is in konbinis, or in cafes (for instance coffee chains like Starbucks ).
It is a colourful, flavoured and very light cake, which is sold with whipped cream and/or fruits. Usually, you can see it strawberry, chocolate or matcha flavoured in Japan.
Aki’s cake follows the tradition and I warmly advise it to you.
